We are animal-loving people who believe that pets are more than just animals – they are an integral part of our families. Yes, we offer a free 30-minute Meet & Greet for every new client so that we can get to know you and your pet. 

We specialize in dogs and cats, but we also care for rabbits, turtles/tortoises, hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice and fish.

OC Pet Nanny will take care of your pets and home when you’re not there. Our visits last up to 30 minutes. During that time, we will make sure your pets have fresh food & water, and that their litter box, tank  or yard is kept clean. If you have cats, we will spend time playing with them inddors. If you have dogs, we will take them for a walk or play with them indoors or in the backyard. If you have multiple pets, it may take longer, but we won’t charge you extra. We will also bring in your mail, packages and newspapers, turn lights on and off and take out the trash on trash day. Our goal is to leave your home as clean or cleaner than when you left, so we will sweep and vacuum around your pet’s food bowls, litter box and any pet hair before you come back.

After our visit, we will let you know if it’s complete via email or text. If you have requested pictures, we will send them at this time.

OC Pet Nanny cares a lot about your pets’ health and safety. We think it’s best if cats get checked on once a day, dogs get checked on twice a day, and puppies or crated dogs get checked on three times a day. We can’t take appointments for less than what we recommend because we want to make sure your pets are taken care of properly.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept job sharing where a friend or neighbor would take some visits and we would take others. Our main concern is ensuring the safety and well-being of your pet. We feel it is important to take full responsibility for our promised services and not involve a third party.. This is why we cannot share accountability with anyone else while you are away.

We will modify the visit as needed. Dogs will still be taken out, but any playtime will take place inside. We will make sure wet paws and fur are dried thoroughly before re-entering your home.

Established clients can self-schedule reservations online through their personal account portal up to 24 hours before a visit. Last minute bookings (less than 24 hours notice) are charged at a 25% higher rate, so we recommend that clients schedule as far in advance as possible.

We do charge an additional 25% fee for holidays and last minute visits (any visit scheduled less than 24 hours in advance).

All rescheduled or canceled visits are credited to your account as a service credit regardless if it was for a regular visit, last-minute visit, or holiday.

We know that things come up and plans change. We would much prefer you book early and if things change just let us know. We are proud to offer the most flexible, fair, and fee-free change/cancellation policy in the pet-sitting and dog-walking industry. We have no change fees and no cancelation fees even during busy holiday periods. Changes or cancellations made before your payment charge day are not charged. Changes or cancellations, once your card is charged, will receive a 100% service credit towards future services usable within one year. Sorry, no refunds. Unused visits for early returns will not be credited or refunded unless arrangements are made in advance.

For new clients, payment for services are due at the Meet & Greet. All other clients can use our online payment option prior to service date.

We currently accept PayPal, and Credit Cards when you book with our online booking portal. We also accept Zelle at our Meet & Greet consultations. 

Tips are allowed and welcome.  However, we cannot offer you additional services as compensation for tips.  Each visit fee covers any and all services you require.

OC Pet Nanny is insured through Pet Care Insurance (PCI). We can provide documentation upon request.

We require a set of keys before any scheduled service. Normally, we pick up keys at the Meet & Greet and keep them securely and without any identifying information for future visits. If you prefer, we can access keys onsite with a doorman, a customer provided lockbox, through a garage with a code. We are sorry we cannot agree to keys hidden unsecured onsite or with neighbors.
